CABO RECAP (OUTFITS + HOTEL)

When your husband asks if you want to go on a trip 6 days before leaving…. the answer is always yes LOL

As fun as it was booking something so quick, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t stress about overnight shipping outfits so they would get here in time! This trip was purely just to get out of town before Trav starts to get real busy with work this summer. Since we did every excursion under the sun when we went to Cancun last November, we just wanted a low key trip this time. We spent every day poolside drinking Pina Colada’s, eating taco’s and exploring downtown Cabo. I got lots of questions on my outfits and about our resort so I’m going to answer all the Q’s I got and linking all my outfits! Just click on the photos below to shop :)

Riu Palace Baja California | Adults Only Hotel

As I mentioned, planning a trip so late notice there was not a ton of options to choose from. It really came down to Riu or another so I started diving into reviews and Riu had the better reviews in my opinion. So, we took the leap of faith with Riu! Overall, the grounds were beautifully kept, the hotel was clean and the food was the best I’ve had yet at a resort! This is adults only so that was a bonus if you are not traveling with mini’s but, it is defiantly a place to let lose with no judgement. By that, I mean you and your husband can end up at a foam pool party dancing until 6PM MANY cocktails in LOL

The first day we wanted to make sure we were by the swim up bar and quickly found out that’s where the parties took place! If you enjoy people watching, listening to loud music and socializing - that is the prime spot! What I did like about the property is that it is big enough with 6 pools that you could move around and find more quite areas if you wanted too. I was really impressed with the pool cocktailing waitstaff. You rarely had to wait for a drink, the cocktail server was always making sure your drinks were take care of and if you were waiting, they had multiple bar carts that were pushed around by the pool you could stop!

Let’s talk food real quick. I’ve been to a handful of all-inclusive resorts and the food was legit always my least favorite part. When I go to AI, I never have high standards for the food so when we went to the buffet the first night - Trav and I both were blown away with all the fresh food and all the options! From different fish, fresh salad bars or nacho/taco bars… I wasn’t afraid to eat the food at a resort for the first time. They had 5 other restaurants but we only made it to two of them. The Steak House was good, we both had lobster and shrimp. The Japanese House was also very good. Ice cold beers with a tuna filet *chefs kiss.

Overall, I would stay at this chain our next vacation. The rooms are stocked with beer and liquor, the staff was helpful and I liked that it was only a $14 cab ride to downtown Cabo. The hotel itself is beautiful - modern and simple. There was entertainment every night (was a little noisey if you went to bed early) and the food was good! It is for sure on the wild side so if you’re looking for a romantic stay I would suggest planning that for another time. Trav and I had fun going with just ourselves but for sure would have been fun with a group of friends!
